Remembering is important, We must not forget.

U2 Album
The Joshua Three Mothers of the Disappeared
Lyrics

Midnight, our sons and daughters

were cut down and taken from us.

Hear their heartbeat

We hear their heartbeat.
In the wind we hear their laughter

In the rain we see their tears.

Hear their heartbeat, we hear their heartbeat.

Night hangs like a prisoner

Stretched over black and blue.

Hear their heartbeats

We hear their heartbeats.
In the trees our sons stand naked

Through the walls our daughter cry

See their tears in the rainfall.

Paul Hewson. (Bono).

When I read this poem I was ten years old. I was impressed, because I thought It was a very expressive poem, and I still keep on believing it. The way that describe the anguish, the sadness, of a mother who had lost her son or daughter because they were captured and taken out from their home is moving. Thousands of men and women had this tragic end, nobody knew where they were, if they are alive or dead, it is a pain that remains no matter how much time passes by.
It is a reality that happened through all Latin America and could happen again. If We forget them, We forget their sacrifice, We will kill them again. They are with us in our fights, in our desire for having a better world. If We forget them We will forget all their drems. Remebering is like to keep them alive. Remembering is important. We´ll never forget them.

As you said, it happened in all Latin America, but if you see it is happening nowadays too. Violence takes away so many lives everyday, and there is no one doing nothing for those people, the same cruelty as back then...it is sad, isn´t it?
